What began as one rider’s quest to make his wife’s seat cooler on a hot California day has grown into a brand that riders across the country trust and love. Today, we proudly carry that legacy forward, staying true to our roots while continuing to innovate for every biker who values quality, comfort, and reliability.
Cycle Shade was created by a biker trying to solve a problem. He loved his bike and the freedom and power he felt when he was on it. He also loved his wife, and having her ride with him made everything more enjoyable. Then, one very hot day in California, his wife told him there was a problem. She said she did not want to ride with him anymore unless he fixed it. The problem? She was tired of sitting on a scorching hot and uncomfortable seat! Determined to keep his favorite riding partner happy, he got to work creating a simple yet effective solution—and Cycle Shade was born.
It wasn’t long after creating his own that other bikers started asking where they could get one. Riders saw it, loved it, and wanted it for themselves. Soon, he began selling Cycle Shades at rallies and bike shows, where it became an instant hit among riders who understood the value of true comfort. For personal reasons, in 2019, he sold the company to us, the Bailey family—and we have been honored to continue this amazing legacy ever since. Meet The Bailey Family
Behind every great company is a team that believes in what they do, and for us, that team is family. Cycle Shade is proudly owned and operated by a mother and son duo who share a deep appreciation for motorcycles and the community that surrounds them.
Terrell initially bought the business after recognizing how much potential it had to grow while keeping its heart and authenticity intact. A short time later, he approached his mother, Laura, and asked if she would consider becoming his business partner. At first, Laura said no. When Terrell looked at her, puzzled, and asked why, she replied, “Because you don’t listen to anything I say!”
A few weeks passed, and after watching Terrell pour his heart into the business, Laura changed her mind. Together, they formed a partnership that balanced innovation with wisdom, energy with experience, and fun with hard work. Today, they lead Cycle Shade with the same passion and dedication that inspired its original creation, serving riders across the nation with products that combine practicality, durability, and heart.

Laura is the heart of Cycle Shade. With her warm personality and sharp business sense, she ensures every customer feels valued and appreciated.
